Time for a few DT cards.
Firstly for
Polkadoodles. Pop over there now, this weeks theme is doodled edge or border. I did mine with glue pen and glitter.
Next is for
Emergency Crafters.
I have had some time off work to go to spain. It wasn't the best week of my life, had a few ups and downs there and at home. But I wanted to share a few pics I took. I do love it there, and hope to return soon.
I haven't done much crafting over the last few weeks or so, lost mojo amongst other things. But I finally received my kit from KanBan, so made a couple of cards with that. The patterned card is KanBan but the image is from
Tiddlyinks.
This one is using the KanBan stamps too. Both images were coloured using Pro Markers and Flexi Markers.
I love Tiddlyinks digis, so here is a couple of cards with them. Coloured with Pro Markers.
I heard about art journalling a while ago, possibly from someone on twitter. I used to love art at school and the thought of combining paints and some elements that might normally be used for crafting, really appealed to me.
I looked at you tube for clips and got some tips. One girl said if you want to keep some of the thoughts private, write on the page first then paint over it. But I found it took a lot of paint to cover it. So I opted out of that Idea. Ill write private things elsewhere, and keep the art journalling a little more lighthearted.
I bought these DVD's which were brilliant. If you want to try art journalling, you should definitely get them.
Ill let you watch the dvd to pick up some tips but here are a few things I used to print the shapes on the pages, in paint.
So basically I have started two journals. One bigger one which is a Daler-Rowney A5 graduate sketch book, which I love. Its perfect for projects like this.
I also have a Rymans A6 leather bound sketch book. Not normally my choice, as I have used Daler-Rowney art products since I was about 12! I am now 31! But this little book was nice and compact.
I have used Daler-Rowney Gesso to give the pages an extra thickness. I then used Daler-Rowney acrylic 'System 3' paints for the rest. I love these paints, acrylic will always be my favourite painting medium.
The interference medium is amazing stuff. I used my finger to spread it over the pages to add a shine which changes colour in the light. The one I used was blue.
I then stamped the image on to my Create & Craft paper solutions marker card, which I love by the way for using with Pro markers. I coloured it in with Pro Markers and used distressing ink around the edge. Stuck it on the page and then used some more paints with the objects above to add detail around the page.
I did the same with a few more pages in the smaller book. I just spread the paint with a baby wipe and then my fingers to get the streaked look. I also used cosmic shimmer mist sprays to add shimmer to the pages, sometimes over a stencil. When I had finished the pages I sprayed Crafters companion iridescent glitter spray over the top as you know I NEED glitter on almost everything.
I have just done a few pages and will use them for inspirational quotes, we all need some cheering up and encouragement at times.
Last of all I used the same tips on to a tag and then stamped on the top! Am trying to take on board Lucy's words!!
Hope you all like my things today, thanks for any comments.
